We are seeking a hands-on, systems-driven Barn Manager to lead our daily operations with integrity, precision, and heart. This position is ideal for someone who values structure, consistency, and excellence in every detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily barn operations, ensuring all procedures are followed with consistency and precision.
• Lead, train, and manage barn staff to uphold Legacy’s standards of cleanliness, organization, and horse care.
• Maintain the immaculate appearance of the facility — presentation is a top priority in our barn.
• Order and manage inventory of feed, hay, bedding, and barn supplies.
• Communicate effectively with trainers, boarders, veterinarians, and farriers to coordinate schedules and care.
• Confidently drive a truck and trailer to haul horses when needed.
• Handle daily physical barn work, including feeding, cleaning, and heavy lifting.
• Conduct or oversee minor maintenance and repairs around the property.
• Monitor horse health and report concerns promptly and accurately.
• Work collaboratively to improve systems — while adhering strictly to current procedures until new ones are formally approved.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in horse handling and care (specific “Barn Manager” experience not required).
• Proven ability to manage people effectively with a balance of leadership and teamwork.
• Highly organized and systems-oriented — thrives in a structured, process-driven environment.
• Physically capable of performing repetitive, labor-intensive tasks safely.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Professional demeanor with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Must be comfortable driving and maneuvering a truck and horse trailer.

 Dedicated Crew Member for Luxury Horse Facility 

Legacy Sport Horses is a private, high-end sales facility in Michigan City, IN, specializing in Friesian Sport Horses. Our small team cares deeply about excellence—and we’re looking for one exceptional person to join us.

This role is for someone who is truly dependable. Horses can’t feed themselves or skip care when it’s inconvenient. That means showing up every day you’re scheduled—on time, no exceptions. You’ll be responsible for the daily well-being of the horses, including feeding, turnout, grooming, basic medical care, and assisting with farrier and vet visits.

We have detailed checklists for every task. You don’t have to guess what to do—but you do have to follow the system with precision. If you see a better way to do something, we welcome your ideas—but until a change is approved, we expect the system to be followed exactly as trained.

This job is ideal for someone who:

• Loves horses and finds joy in caring for them well
   
• Feels a sense of pride in doing things the right way
   
• Is self-motivated and focused when working solo
   
• Is 18 or older
   
• Is organized, detail-oriented, and consistent
   

Bonus points if you have experience working around young or training horses (not required, but appreciated).

This job is not for someone who calls off frequently, dislikes routine, or doesn’t take pride in the details. We’re a small team with high standards, and we rely on each other.  This position will definitely include weekends.
