Buying a horse is about much more than finding one that looks good in a video. It is about finding the right partnership.
At Legacy Sport Horses, our goal is not simply to sell horses. Our goal is to match each horse with the rider and home where they will thrive. We believe those are the partnerships that last, and they're the reason so much of our business comes from referrals and repeat customers.
One of the first things visitors notice is that we do not work horses before appointments.
Your horse will be clean, groomed, and looking its best, but it won't be lunged, ridden, or "taken down" beforehand.
We want you to see exactly how the horse behaves on a normal day. The horse you meet is the horse you can expect to take home.
Every horse has strengths. Every horse also has things that make it a better fit for some riders than others.
We'll tell you both.
If we don't believe a horse is the right match for your goals, experience, or riding style, we'll tell you. We'd much rather lose a sale than place one of our horses in a home that isn't the right fit.
Our horses matter to us long after they leave our farm.
Our horses are developed through correct, age-appropriate training.
We don't rush young horses or force them into work they aren't physically or mentally ready for. Instead, we focus on creating horses that are relaxed, confident, and enjoyable to ride for years to come.
Many of our horses are comfortable both in the dressage arena and out on the trails because we believe versatility creates happier, more confident partners.
We welcome questions.
We share extensive videos, encourage pre-purchase exams, and are happy to discuss each horse honestly.
If there is something we think a buyer should know, we tell them.
Buying a horse is a significant investment, and we believe transparency builds the trust that every successful purchase should begin with.
Anyone can say they're honest.
We believe our reputation should speak for itself.
Because we have public reviews on both Google and Facebook, every customer has the opportunity to share their experience. That accountability is important to us and reflects the way we choose to do business every day.

Whether you're looking for your first dressage horse, a safe trail partner, or a horse to grow with through the levels, we'd love to help.
Browse our available horses or contact us to discuss what you're looking for. If we don't have the right horse today, we'll gladly keep an eye out for one that fits your goals.
We want your visit to be relaxed, informative, and pressure-free. Buying a horse is an important decision, and we encourage you to spend the time you need getting to know each horse.
We'll begin by introducing you to the horse in the stall or pasture so you can see their personality in a normal, everyday setting.
The horse will be clean and groomed before your arrival, but we never work horses before appointments. We want you to see exactly how they behave on any given day—not after they've been lunged or ridden beforehand.
You're welcome to groom and handle the horse yourself, or if you prefer, our trainer will do it while you observe. Some buyers enjoy getting hands-on right away, while others are more comfortable watching first. We're happy to accommodate either approach.
Our trainer will normally ride first so you can see the horse going before you get on. This gives you an opportunity to watch the horse's way of going, ask questions, and gain confidence before your own ride.
If you would prefer to ride first, we're happy to discuss that as well.
Once you've had a chance to watch, you'll have the opportunity to ride the horse yourself. We'll answer questions, offer guidance if you'd like it, and make sure you have the opportunity to experience whether the horse feels like the right fit.
We do our best to respect our trainers' schedules, so we keep the riding portion of the appointment moving efficiently. Once the trainer has finished, however, you're welcome to spend as much time as you need with the horse.
Whether you'd like to groom, hand graze, ask additional questions, or simply spend a few quiet minutes getting to know them, we encourage you to do so. We believe the best decisions happen when buyers never feel rushed.
Our goal isn't simply to sell you a horse—it's to help you find the right partner.
